Buck O'Connor Spring Awards Shoot

SUNDAY, May 19  â€‹

Event hours: 9 am until 4 pm

WOODS WALK, NOVELTY, & PRIMITIVE IRON- Both days

​

$5 Registration Fee. There will be a $4 entry fee on each of the reactive target categories -Woods Walk, Novelty, & Primitive Iron. 10 shots per area. Gongs, clangers, and novelty items make these ranges extra engaging. 20 min relays.

​

Please note- the Woods Walks and Novelty area will be designed to have the participants shoot out of their shooting bags (if at all possible) otherwise, be prepared for a lot of walking on uneven surfaces. 

​

Unlimited re-entry in each category besides the Aggregate IS permitted with additional entry fees paid.

 

All Aggregate scores must be first time through for each category only. Competitors who wish to participate must give notice when purchasing their first set of targets/score cards each day. There is no re-entry for the Aggregate.

PAPER TARGETS & SILHOUETTES- Both days

 

Rifle, Smoothbore, Rifled Musket, & Pistol categories (No Cartridge). 20 min relays.

$5 Registration Fee.

Paper targets at 100, 75, 50, and 25 yards will be available for a $1 per target.

Silhouette match fee is $3 per entry. Plink metal animal silhouettes at various yardages.

Senior Bench Match (Old Farts, age 63+) 25 yard target available.

GRAND AGGREGATE

May 18 & 19

This will be a combination of the scores from Saturday & Sunday. The winner will be calculated from the scores of the Participants FIRST TIME THROUGH EACH CATEGORY / TARGET ONLY. Competitors who wish to participate must give notice when purchasing their first set of targets/score cards each day. There is no re-entry in this category. Award will be given out at the end of the day on Sunday.

All events are primitive muzzleloader competitions, shot using open sights in a standing position (off hand) using either flint or percussion. Inline muzzleloaders are not permitted. Open metallic sights only- no peeps, shaders, scopes, or hoods. Smoothbore guns follow NMLRA rules. All classes will fire a projectile that will be a patched round ball (slug-type bullets may be used in the Civil War Musket Shoot). For Pistols a 2 hand hold is permitted. Cap & Ball revolvers can compete- loaded with a single shot. All Junior competitors must have a registered Adult to accompany them while shooting or throwing knives or tomahawk. 

 

The Wilderness Muzzleloaders Club will make all judgements and rulings regarding the competition. Their decisions will be final. Range Officers will be present for your protection, assistance, and questions.

For Safety reasons-

NO Alcoholic beverages or drugs allowed on or near the Range or consumed prior to using the Range. NO Pets allowed. NO Juniors or children should ever be left unattended.

​
